Dispatch planning dropped from three hours to 25 minutes a day.

The challenge

Every morning, two shift leads at Nexa spent close to three hours matching new orders to drivers in a spreadsheet. Late changes meant re-planning by hand, and customers usually heard about delays before the ops team did.

What we built

Dispatch Copilot reads new orders from the Nexa TMS every five minutes, scores each driver on distance, load and remaining shift time, and proposes an assignment that a dispatcher approves in one click.

  • Assignment scoring trained on 14 months of order history
  • A delay model that posts warnings to the ops Slack channel
  • Three weeks of shadow mode before anything went live

The result

By the third week of shadow mode, the model matched or beat the dispatcher pick on 94% of shipments. Planning now takes 25 minutes, and the team gets an average of 41 minutes warning before a delivery runs late.
